New Skilled Occupations List announced today

Date:2010-5-17                                                        Views:3967

The Immigration Department announced new Skilled Occupations List

DIAC has today announced the new Skilled Occupations List that is intended to take effect from 1 July 2010.

Those migration shortcut courses as currently offered in TAFE do not have a seat in the new List, whilst the most concerned accounting stays in.

DIAC states in its official statement today that it is expected that the new List will be reviewed annually to accomodate changes in the Australian skills shortage.

For those who have already lodged their GSM  visa applications, it is intended that they would still be assessed against the old List.

For international students, it is intended that as long as a student was holding a 572, 573 or a 574 visa as at 8 February 2010, and applies for 485 visa by 31 December 2012, then the old List would apply.
